Baby Nails, Agard Nail Trimmer Review

Today, while organizing the baby stuff at home, I stumbled upon an unfamiliar item. Turns out it was a birthday gift for my wife.

"Agard Nail Trimmer."

When I asked about its purpose, she said it was for trimming the baby's nails. I wondered, "Why not just use regular nail clippers?" But my remark earned me a scolding. 😭
Apparently, baby nails grow really fast, are paper-thin, fold easily, and are prone to breaking. Most people start trimming with nail scissors, but considering even adults can get hurt with scissors, and given their primary function is cutting, I was unsure about their safety for a baby. Not knowing exactly how much to trim and fearing I might accidentally cut the baby and draw blood, my wife did extensive research on blogs and YouTube before settling on this particular product.

The usage was simple: push the button up for right rotation and down for left. It also had two-speed settings. The trimmer attachments were differentiated by colors for baby and adult usage; green, pink, and mint were for babies while the rest were for adults. It operated on AA batteries, and the attachments were easy to change.

Before trying it on our baby, I decided to test it on my nails.

...Hmm...

It seems better suited solely for baby nails. Given that baby nails are thin and fragile, the rotation and friction should be adequate for trimming. One issue that came up, which my wife had mentioned, was the nail dust. While I chalked it up to testing on my adult nails, there's no guarantee it won't produce nail dust when used on our baby. Hence, we'll need to be cautious, perhaps using a fan or something to ensure the dust doesn't fly towards the baby.

Hey little one, when you come home, daddy will take good care of your nails. Just make sure to come home healthy and happy! 😆
