Ever since my wife came home from the postnatal care center, I've been helping with childcare. On weekends, I watch our baby Nayul with my wife, while on weekdays, I look after him either before heading to work or after coming home.
On days I commute to work, I wake up between 5:30-6:00 am, but on remote work days, I get up around 7:30 am. I usually clean the bottles Nayul used overnight and check when he was last fed to give him his formula. Even though we don’t always communicate about every detail, we've been naturally alternating childcare responsibilities and have been on the same page. The reason we've managed this so smoothly is thanks to the 'BabyTime' app.
BabyTime
There are numerous apps related to baby care, and while some like 'PeeYooLog' seemed to have better statistics and documentation, I didn’t have the luxury to test many. I chose BabyTime for its compatibility with both iPhone and Android, its high ratings, and the sheer number of downloads. After using it for about 5 days, my verdict is that it's both user-friendly and helpful.
While I do occasionally get pictures of Nayul during the day, I often wonder if he's feeding well and about his diaper changes. As a first-time parent, the curiosity might be natural. With BabyTime, every minor detail of Nayul's day, such as feedings and diaper changes, is recorded. This offers a holistic view of his daily activities, which I found invaluable.
The app has intuitive icons, making it easy to adapt to. You can quickly register past events or modify them, which is probably why it's been easy to keep up with updating his activities.
As an Apple Watch user, recording an event, like a diaper change, became second nature. Events saved on my Apple Watch synced flawlessly with the app, and the timer feature was especially helpful during breastfeeding.
By default, the app supports two caregivers. To remove ads or add more caregivers, there's a fee, but so far, I haven't found the ads intrusive and haven't felt the need to make additional purchases.
For more detailed instructions on adding caregivers or editing records, I'd recommend checking out BabyTime's official website.
